AP® Music Theory is designed for students who need it for career study as well as those who desire it for enrichment. While the main emphasis is placed on music of the Common Practice period (1600–1900), music of other stylistic periods is also studied. Students, upon successful completion of this course, may be eligible to use the credits earned from this course toward college credits or to test out of one or more entry level music theory classes.

- Evaluate situations to determine whether there is reasonable cause to suspect child abuse or maltreatment/neglect.
